I hadn't looked within my Trade Area on the Graphistudio website for a few weeks but was delighted to see a software seminar advertised for today and I grabbed a last minute place. This was well worthwhile as I have struggled with their book building beta software and it makes all the difference when someone smart demos the latest version, things fall into place. The unlikely venue for this seminar was the Park Inn, Watford, right beside Watford Junction Mainline Station and this suggested traffic and parking problems as I had booked the 930am slot. Time would be tight as I would leave Sinead to work, Hannah to school and then on to deepest, darkest Watford.

On a wedding Saturday recently, Sinead and Hannah had ventured north to the bright and glittery shops of downtown Watford by mainline train and I immediately thought this would be the easy answer. We worked out that I would catch an H9 Bus from the bottom of the road for four stops to Harrow and Wealstone Station and then a mainline train to Watford Junction with the hotel a five minute stroll away.
This morning I returned from my human deliveries and parked the car at home, grabbed the few bits I needed for the morning and walked to the bottom of Gloucester Road. Five minutes later a fairly packed bus arrived and departed and we swayed our way to Harrow and Wealdstone Station. I have never really used mainline trains but things have become so much easier and foolprooof over the years and I quickly located a train and platform and was on Platform 5 at 854am. My train arrived at 857am and took the grand total of 7 minutes to travel to Watford and I was early for the 930am start!
The seminar was potentially workflow changing and well worth the journey especially as the return route was equally easy and smooth and the total cost being £3.80
A grand morning out!

I seem to be going through a "blue" period at the moment as I test the Canon G9 as a Black and White camera at shooting source . . . I'll try and shoot some autumn colour as mentioned below tomorrow and will have to change a few modes.
